The Musician’s Touch

Watercolor painting - The Musicians TouchThe Musician’s Touch portrays an old inter-city musician that reached out to a young boy on the side walk to pull him into the music. As the old musician surprised the boy by touching him, the boy’s posture stiffened. Perhaps, like the boy, many of us would stiffen if a homeless stranger touched us.

But in reaching across the barriers that can segregate—young and old, black and white, rich and poor—the old musician mirrored the gospel message: “Love you neighbor.” In my own life as I am learning to reach out and risk loving others across uncomfortable boundaries, I have encountered the profound and powerful message depicted in The Musician’s Touch.

I love this. You truly paint from your heart and it shows. Thanks for visiting and yes, I’m retired Navy and I don’t miss living on a base at all(smile). I’m a loner and the close quarters suffocated me. I do miss the two paychecks a month though (lol).
