Children of the Russian Arctic Note Card Gift Set
Laughing in the Wind
by Pamela Alderman
Watercolor on paper
Imagine the sound of children laughing in the wind. Pamela recently finished painting a series of Russian orphan children, entitled Children of the Russian Arctic. The children depicted in the series have lived through difficult situations, stifling their laughter. Some of them have lost both parents. However, many have parents who are still living, but they carry the label “social orphans” because of their parents’ alcohol abuse or other serious circumstances.
Russian Ministries has invited Pamela help send these orphans to summer camp where they’ll play games, learn to swim, and watch puppet shows. One artist may not be able to change the plight of four to five million homeless children throughout Russia and the Ukraine. But through the sale of her artwork, Pamela believes some children can be reached with a message of hope, igniting laughter once again.
Help send orphaned children from Russian or the Ukraine to summer camp. Purchase reproduction prints, and Watercolor by Pamela will donate a portion of the proceeds to Russian Ministries to help brighten the summer of an orphan child.
To purchase Giclée reproductions of Laughing in the Wind, Silent Night, Sunflower, and Harvest, where a portion of the proceeds are donated, please visit the Watercolor by Pamela Specials page.
