Jeremiah Brown, a talented artist born and raised on a family farm in Decatur, Michigan, discovered his love for drawing at an early age. His two older brothers were his inspiration, and he spent countless hours with them recreating superheroes, villains, and futuristic machines from comic books. After dinner, they would sit on the living room floor with paper and pencils, creating their own illustrations. Jeremiah’s passion for art continued to grow as he got older, and he eventually became an accomplished painter.
His latest work, “Some of the Greats,” is a tribute to the women and men of African descent who made significant contributions to the performing arts, civil activism, writing, and other fields. The painting features several people, including actors, writers, and performers, who inspired Jeremiah while growing up. As he worked on the canvas, he thought about the obstacles that these individuals had to overcome to achieve greatness, both personally and professionally. Their stories of perseverance and success were a source of inspiration for him, and he wanted to honor their legacy through his art. Jeremiah believes that there are many renowned artists, writers, and performers of all backgrounds, but he wanted to focus on those who he was most familiar with. Through his painting, he hopes to inspire others to pursue their passions and to celebrate the achievements of those who have come before them.
