Recently, I was encouraged by this tweet from Rachel, an ArtPrize visitor. Rachel posted the following vignette and amazing photo describing her experience at my Wing and a Prayer installation. Here’s a portion of what she wrote:
One of this year’s exhibits was a breathtaking piece called Wing and a Prayer, based on a beautiful story of prayers for a child and paper cranes. Visitors were invited to write their own prayers for a child in their life on pieces of paper—whether they were prayers for a physical need, an emotional need, or something completely different—and hang them on the wall.
Standing in front of the hundreds of children’s names, each representing a young struggling life, brought tears to my eyes. What brings tears to my eyes now is that my humble prayer, one name written on a slip of paper, has since been answered.
